In the summer of 2007, the life of 36-year-old Jewels Treman Cook was tragically cut short in Baltimore, Maryland. An African-American male, his body was discovered by a passerby in the early morning hours of June 27th, around 5:45 a.m., within the serene surroundings of the Cylburn Arboretum, a botanical garden in the northeastern part of the city.
