David Harris, a 42-year-old African American male and an off-duty Chicago police officer, tragically lost his life on August 7, 2019, in a high-speed chase incident. Harris was driving home after his shift when his vehicle was struck by a van being pursued by Calumet Park police officers. The collision occurred at the intersection of 87th Street and Lafayette Avenue in Chicago.
