Mickyle Fossett, a 19-year-old male from Hanover Park, IL, was fatally shot on January 13, 2020. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. in the 5500 block of Pebble Beach Drive. Officers responding to the scene found Mickyle with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, where he was pronounced dead less than an hour later.
The Cook County medical examiner's office confirmed that Mickyle died from multiple gunshot wounds and ruled his death a homicide.
Mickyle, known to his family as "RayRay," was the fifth-oldest of eight siblings. His family described him as outgoing and hard-headed, a young man who was loved and looked up to by his younger siblings. The tragic loss of Mickyle has left his family and community in mourning.
The Hanover Park Police and the Metropolitan Emergency Response and Investigation Team are investigating Mickyle's death. As of now, there have been no arrests or suspects publicly identified in connection with the case.
