Florentino Carranza Ruiz, a 53-year-old Hispanic male, was fatally shot on June 30, 2020, in the Little Village neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred around 3:07 p.m. on the sidewalk in the 4000 block of West 26th Street. Florentino Carranza Ruiz was with Wilmer Cortez, a 26-year-old male, when an unknown assailant approached them and opened fire. Both men were critically injured and rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital.
