Natalia Victoria Wallace, a 7-year-old African American girl, was tragically shot and killed on July 4, 2020, in Chicago, Illinois. Natalia was playing outside her grandmother's house in the South Austin neighborhood when a group of men opened fire from a car. The shooting occurred around 7 p.m. as Natalia and other children were enjoying the holiday. A bullet struck Natalia in the head, and despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital of Cook County.
