In the summer of 2008, the life of Clarence Vernell Jr. Hamlett, a 22-year-old Black / African American male, was tragically cut short on the streets of Baltimore, Maryland. On the evening of Wednesday, August 27, 2008, Hamlett was in the vicinity of the 1300 block of North Stricker Street when he became a victim of homicide. The incident was one of 234 killings that occurred in the city that year.
