Known as an introvert who rarely left his home, he was the primary caregiver for his diabetic mother, for whom he lovingly prepared meals and administered medication. His world was small and centered around his family and the comfort of his home on the 5600-block of Plymouth Road.
He was a man who, by all accounts, 'didn't have an enemy in the world.'
On the cold evening of Sunday, January 2, 2011, this peaceful existence was shattered by a senseless act of violence. Around 7:30 p.m., Wilson, dressed in his robe and slippers, had just stepped outside to walk his dog, Quincy, in his yard. It was in this familiar and seemingly safe space that an unknown assailant shot him in the shoulder. The single gunshot proved to be fatal, ending the life of a man described by police as someone who 'never did anyone wrong; he posed no threat.'
The killing stunned his family and the community. His brother, Frankie Wilson, remembered their last conversation, a cherished chat about their shared love for the Ravens, less than a day before the shooting. The motive for the murder remains a mystery to investigators, who do not believe it was a robbery gone wrong, as Wilson had nothing of value on him at the time. Police went door-to-door in the quiet neighborhood, hoping to find any information that could lead to the person responsible for this 'callous' act. Despite their efforts and the family's heartfelt pleas for help, no one has come forward with information.
