On March 6, 2021, Thomas Forrest, a 60-year-old man from Chicago, IL, was found fatally shot in the back and set on fire in an abandoned building in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. The autopsy results confirmed that Forrest died from multiple gunshot wounds to his back, and his death was ruled a homicide. Forrest was one of at least 22 people shot in weekend gun violence in the city.
