Wesley Bivens, a 31-year-old man from Salem, Illinois, was tragically shot and killed on April 15, 2021, at his rural home. The incident occurred in the evening when Bivens' girlfriend called 911, reporting that she had shot him in self-defense after he allegedly tried to hit her. Upon arrival, deputies found Bivens deceased in the hallway of the home, with a black handgun on the kitchen counter and bullet casings nearby.
