On the night of May 1, 2021, 37-year-old Travis Willis, an African American male, was fatally shot during an altercation in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side of Chicago. The incident occurred around 10:50 p.m. in the 11800 block of South Lafayette Avenue. Willis was standing outside with a group of people when he began arguing with another male.
