Taaj Mahome, a 16-year-old boy from Lansing, Illinois, was tragically shot and killed on May 30, 2021, in Harvey, Illinois. The incident occurred shortly before 9 p.m. in the 14400 block of Union Avenue, a south suburb of Chicago. According to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, Mahome died about three hours later from a gunshot wound to his head. His death was ruled a homicide.
The Harvey police did not immediately respond to requests for more information regarding the incident.
