Loranisha Lane, a 31-year-old African American woman, was tragically found shot to death in her apartment in Midlothian, Illinois, on September 22, 2021. Police responded to a report of a gunshot victim at around 9:45 p.m. and discovered Lane unresponsive inside her residence on Homan Avenue. She was pronounced dead shortly before 10 p.m., and the Cook County medical examiner's office ruled her death a homicide.
