Shanah Roberts, a 24-year-old African American woman, was tragically shot to death on June 9, 2023, in Calumet City, Illinois. She suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the neck while at her residence on the 600 block of Wentworth Avenue. The Cook County medical examiner's office confirmed her death as a homicide. The incident occurred in the early afternoon, and she was pronounced dead at 12:39 p.m. at a Hinsdale hospital.
