Jeremiah Ellis, a 9-year-old African American boy, was tragically killed on May 14, 2022, in Skokie, Illinois. Jeremiah was at his grandmother's apartment, celebrating his recent birthday, when the incident occurred. He was watching television with his 5-year-old brother in the living room while their grandmother slept on the couch.
