Omar Polk, a 30-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on August 6, 2022, in the West Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred in the early morning hours, around 5:10 a.m., in the 4000 block of West Monroe Street. Omar Polk was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the neck. He was immediately transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
