Taveon C. Davis, a 24-year-old African American man from Urbana, Illinois, tragically lost his life on November 9, 2022. The incident occurred in the evening near the intersection of Philo Road and Michigan Avenue. Urbana Police responded to reports of a shooting and found Taveon with a gunshot wound to his torso. Despite the immediate medical attention provided by the officers and subsequent efforts by EMTs, Taveon was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to Carle Hospital.
