J. C. Sawyer, a 55-year-old white male, was tragically murdered on June 3, 1983, in Cobb County, Georgia. On that fateful evening, a young white man named Nicholas Lee Ingram entered the home of J. C. and Mary Sawyer under the pretense of needing to use their phone. Ingram, armed with a pearl-handled pistol, demanded money and the keys to their car.
