On September 3, 2002, Lieutenant Billy Ray Jiles, a 42-year-old male law enforcement officer, was tragically killed in the line of duty in Carroll County, Georgia. A 20-year veteran of law enforcement, he was responding to a call regarding a man attempting to set his ex-wife's house on fire in Villa Rica.
