Chief Investigator Alex Roy 'Al' Suarez, Sr., a 60-year-old male from Boston, Georgia, tragically lost his life on May 4, 2007. Alex Suarez, who was of Hispanic descent, was accidentally shot and killed by another officer at the police station. The incident occurred during a shift change when the officer was finishing cleaning his gun. After reloading the weapon, it accidentally discharged, striking Chief Investigator Suarez in the chest. This unfortunate event resulted in his immediate death.
