The incident occurred during a violent altercation involving Anthony Giaquinta, a former law enforcement officer. Giaquinta, who had a history of domestic violence, fatally shot his ex-wife, Kathy Giaquinta Smith, and Steven Thomas Singleton outside a home in Clarkesville.
