In the summer of 2015, the life of 35-year-old Stephanie Valarie Daniel was tragically cut short. A former resident of Calhoun, Georgia, she was fatally shot on July 6, 2015. Born on October 3, 1979, in Whitfield County, Georgia, Stephanie was a mother to two daughters.
The investigation into her death led to the arrest and subsequent conviction of Fred Charles for malice murder and other related offenses in connection with the shooting. Following his conviction, Charles appealed the verdict. However, the Georgia Supreme Court found no reversible errors in the trial and affirmed his convictions in February 2023.
Services to honor Stephanie's life were held in the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home in Calhoun, with her uncle, Reverend Kenny Sheriff, officiating. She was laid to rest in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Her family requested that donations be made to the Stephanie Valarie Daniel Memorial Fund in her memory.
