Vernon Lamont Hunter, a 24-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on October 19, 2016, in Statesboro, Georgia. The incident occurred at the Campus Crossings apartment complex, where Hunter was fatally shot. According to reports, the Statesboro Police Department responded to the sounds of gunshots in the early hours of the morning. Upon arrival, they discovered Hunter with severe gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
