In the fading daylight of a Friday evening in Columbus, Georgia, the life of 25-year-old Maurice Andre McGhee Jr. was tragically cut short. On March 24, 2017, at approximately 5:40 p.m., McGhee was shot at the Luther C. Wilson Apartments on 8th Avenue. Emergency responders rushed him to the Midtown Medical Center, but his injuries proved to be fatal.
