In the fading light of a November evening in 2017, the life of 18-year-old Javion Shorter was tragically cut short in Columbus, Georgia. A senior at Kendrick High School, the young Black man was fatally wounded in a shooting at the Ballard Way Apartments on November 17, succumbing to his injuries two days later at Midtown Medical Center.
