Jewell Jefferson, a 16-year-old African American girl, was tragically shot and killed in her bedroom on November 27, 2017, in Lithonia, Georgia. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. at her home on Great Meadows Road. According to reports, Jewell was shot in the face, just below her left eye, while she was in her bedroom. Her mother, Takecha Jacks, found her daughter and cradled her in her arms until the police arrived.
