In the quiet town of Hoschton, Georgia, the life of 43-year-old Daniel Freddrick Fowler was abruptly cut short on the evening of May 9, 2018. That night, deputies from the Barrow County Sheriff's Office were called to a residence on Victron Drive, where they discovered Fowler's body lying in the driveway. He had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to his chest.
The investigation into Fowler's death soon pointed to a married couple, Wesley and Rachel Cooper.
Authorities determined that an altercation had occurred between Rachel Cooper and Fowler at the home she was in with her child. Wesley Cooper arrived at the residence shortly after, which led to the fatal shooting of Fowler.
Following a thorough investigation, both Wesley and Rachel Cooper were arrested in June of that year. Wesley Cooper faced a string of serious charges, including felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, tampering with evidence, and third-degree cruelty to a child. Rachel Cooper was charged with tampering with evidence and cruelty to children, with the child cruelty charges for both stemming from a child being present during the commission of the crime.
