In the late evening hours of a Saturday in March 2012, the sound of gunshots shattered the night on the 800 block of W. Fayette Street in Baltimore. Responding to the alarming noise, a mother made a discovery that would forever alter her life. She found her 18-year-old son, Roderick Burden, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his head and torso.
