In May of 2012, an 18-year-old male from Baltimore, James Shird, was fatally shot in the 4600 block of York Road. Shird, a resident of the Frankford neighborhood in East Baltimore, was identified by city police following the incident. At the time of his death, he was facing charges of drug possession and was scheduled to appear in court on the very day the shooting occurred.
