In the quiet community of Darien, Georgia, a tragedy unfolded in the early hours of January 22, 2021, forever altering the lives of the Wynn family. Lynnette Wynn, a 62-year-old female, and her 63-year-old husband, Frank Wynn, were fatally shot in their home in northern McIntosh County. The serenity of their household was shattered by the sound of gunshots, a sound that also awakened their other son who was asleep in the residence.
The initial shock and horror of the discovery were soon
compounded by the identity of the alleged perpetrator. Law enforcement officials quickly identified the couple's 25-year-old son, Jordan Jarrod Wynn, as the primary suspect in their deaths. A search for Jordan ensued, involving deputies from McIntosh, Long, and Liberty counties who scoured the wooded areas surrounding the family's home. It was believed he might have attempted to flee to Savannah or Statesboro.
Later that same night, the search concluded when Jordan Wynn was located and apprehended by McIntosh County Sheriff's Deputies and members of the U.S. Marshals fugitive task force. He was discovered hiding in a wooded area approximately half a mile from his parents' home. At the time of his arrest, he was unarmed and did not offer any resistance. Jordan Jarrod Wynn was subsequently charged with two counts of murder in connection with the deaths of his parents, Lynnette and Frank Wynn. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation's crime lab was tasked with conducting autopsies to formally determine the cause of their deaths.
