In the early morning hours of March 6, 2021, the life of 18-year-old Desmon Wright was tragically cut short in the breezeway of a Norcross, Georgia apartment complex. The Gwinnett County police were called to the Las Palmas Apartments on Seasons Parkway shortly after 3 a.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Wright, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe that the shooting was the culmination of an argument between Wright, a resident of Snellville, and a resident of the apartment complex. The altercation escalated, resulting in the resident fatally shooting Wright. At the time of the initial reports, authorities stated that the shooter was cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
While the case was investigated as a homicide, no charges were immediately filed in the incident. The Gwinnett County Police Department encouraged anyone with information to come forward to assist with the investigation.
