In the quiet town of Folkston, Georgia, the life of 40-year-old Javarr Daniel Nelson, a male resident, was tragically cut short on Sunday, August 1, 2021. Nelson was found deceased at his home, the victim of a fatal shooting. The incident marked another instance of gun violence that left a community searching for answers.
Following the discovery of Nelson's body, an investigation was launched by local law enforcement, with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation joining the case to assist
the Folkston Police Department. Their collective efforts soon led to the identification of a primary suspect in the deadly shooting.
Authorities publicly identified 33-year-old Terry Roberson as the individual wanted in connection with Javarr Nelson's death. The GBI, in conjunction with the Folkston Police Department, issued a 'Be on the Lookout' for Roberson, considering him to be armed and dangerous.
Arrest warrants were secured for Roberson, outlining a series of grave charges against him. These included felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Law enforcement agencies appealed to the public for any information that could lead to the apprehension of the suspect, urging caution and asking for tips to be submitted to the Folkston Police Department or the GBI.
