On December 11, 2021, in Monticello, Georgia, 9-year-old Aidan La'Melvin Barnes tragically lost his life in an accidental shooting. According to the Jasper County Sheriff's Office, Aidan was shot in the upper torso by another juvenile inside a residence. Emergency services were called by a witness present at the scene, and despite immediate first aid efforts by those on-site and subsequent attempts by paramedics, Aidan succumbed to his injuries. ((
