On June 5, 2015, 18-year-old Ruben Martinez Jr. Barrera was shot and killed in Long Beach, California. The incident occurred at around 11:55 p.m. on the 5400 block of Elm Avenue. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Ruben with gunshot wounds to the upper body, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
