This incident took place at a Seminole Indian camp northeast of Lake Okeechobee, known as Bluefields. Jim Jumper, a biracial Seminole, was the perpetrator of this mass murder, which resulted in the deaths of at least seven individuals, including Nancy Bowlegs.
