Martha Tiger was one of the victims of the tragic Jim Jumper massacre, also known as the Bluefields massacre, which occurred on February 14 or 15, 1889, at a Seminole Indian camp northeast of Lake Okeechobee in St. Lucie County, Florida. The massacre was perpetrated by Jim Jumper, a biracial Seminole, who killed several members of the Seminole community, including Martha Tiger.
