Special Agent Wesley C. Sellars, serving with the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Police Department, met a tragic end on August 8, 1906, in High Springs, Florida. Sellars was ambushed and shot to death by two men at the railroad depot while investigating the looting of freight cars by a gang of thugs who were also terrorizing the local community.
