Virginia Burton Davis Selby, aged 61, tragically lost her life on March 4, 1960, in Jupiter, Florida. Her death was the result of a violent encounter with Dennis Manaford Whitney, a spree killer who had embarked on a cross-country murder spree. Whitney, who had a troubled past marked by early criminal activities, began his spree in February 1960, targeting victims across several states. By the time he reached Florida, he had already claimed multiple lives.
