Eddie Benitez, a special agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), tragically lost his life on July 12, 1983, following a shooting incident that occurred on July 8, 1983, in Miami, Florida. Benitez was engaged in an undercover operation aimed at apprehending individuals involved in the illegal trade of firearms, explosives, and narcotics.
