Samuel James "Jimmy" Ryce, a nine-year-old boy from Redland, Florida, tragically lost his life on September 11, 1995. Jimmy was abducted while walking home from his school bus stop, just a short distance from his house. His abductor, Juan Carlos Chavez, a farmhand working in the area, forced Jimmy into his truck at gunpoint and took him to a trailer on a nearby ranch. There, Chavez sexually assaulted Jimmy.
