Barbara Carter, aged 55, tragically lost her life on December 30, 1999, in Tampa, Florida. Her death was part of a horrific mass shooting incident at a hotel, which was crowded with football fans in town for a bowl game. The perpetrator, Silvio Izquierdo-Leyva, a housekeeper at the hotel, opened fire on his co-workers and guests without any prior warning.
