Daniel DeStefano, a 32-year-old white male, was tragically murdered on February 1, 2005, in Palm Beach, Florida. DeStefano, who worked as a newspaper delivery person, was filling a newspaper stand at a convenience store in the early morning hours when he was accosted by Steven Douglas Hayward. Hayward, a convicted felon, approached DeStefano and demanded money. Despite DeStefano's attempts to comply, Hayward shot him multiple times, resulting in his death.
