Wilson, a 42-year-old officer with the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, tragically lost his life on August 5, 2013, while responding to a domestic violence call at an apartment complex on Veterans Boulevard in Port Charlotte, Florida. The call involved a physical altercation between a man, his wife, and their son.
