In the early morning hours of December 29, 2013, the life of a young African American man, Kevin Charles Brown, was tragically cut short on the streets of Baltimore, Maryland. At approximately 1:20 a.m., police responded to reports of a shooting in the 2700 block of East Monument Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 23-year-old Brown suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Johns Hopkins Hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
