Otis Ray Bean Jr., a 53-year-old male, tragically lost his life on October 1, 2015, in Inglis, Florida. The incident occurred when Walter A. Tyson, a 57-year-old man, shot Bean, who was reportedly in a relationship with Tyson's estranged wife, Patricia Tyson. The shooting took place at Bean's residence, located across from Inglis City Hall on U.S. Highway 40.
The altercation began when Tyson, heartbroken over his wife's departure and her new relationship, confronted the couple at Bean's home.
On the evening of the incident, Tyson arrived at the residence and, in a fit of rage, shot Otis Ray Bean Jr. Despite being airlifted to a hospital in Gainesville, Bean succumbed to his injuries the following day. The violence did not end there; Tyson also shot and killed Patricia Tyson and Walter Scott Terhune, a 68-year-old Good Samaritan who attempted to intervene. There were no arrests or ongoing litigations related to the deaths, as the perpetrator, Walter A. Tyson, also died at the scene.
