Katrina Padgett, a 46-year-old African American woman, was tragically killed on March 13, 2016, in Miami, Florida. The incident occurred at her mother's home in southwest Miami-Dade County. According to reports, Katrina was confronted by her estranged husband, Joe Louis Padgett, 54, at approximately 9:30 p.m. An argument ensued, during which Joe Louis Padgett pulled out a firearm and began shooting at both Katrina and her mother, Sophia Cheeks.
