Deonka Deidra "DeeDee" Drayton, a 32-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on June 12, 2016, in Orlando, Florida. DeeDee was one of the 49 victims of the horrific mass shooting at Pulse Nightclub, a popular LGBTQ+ venue. The attack, carried out by Omar Mateen, was one of the deadliest mass shootings in U.S. history.
