On July 10, 2016, Germaine D. Deamus, a 38-year-old African American male, was found dead in a motel room at the Remington Inn and Suites in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The bodies of two other individuals, Charles Simms Jr., 39, and Lisa Robbins, 49, were also discovered in the same room. All three victims had been shot to death. The discovery was made by a maintenance worker who entered the room after receiving reports from other motel guests about the door being left open for several hours.
