On July 17, 2016, Cynthia Zingsheim, an 88-year-old resident of Titusville, Florida, was tragically killed in a shooting incident at Parrish Medical Center. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning when David Owens, a 29-year-old man, entered the hospital armed with a handgun. Owens proceeded to the third floor, where he entered Zingsheim's hospital room and fatally shot her, along with a 36-year-old hospital employee named Carrie Rouzer, who was present in the room at the time.
