Raquel Lee Wallace, aged 32, tragically lost her life on December 6, 2016, in Jacksonville, Florida. The incident occurred at a Super 8 Motel located on University Boulevard West. According to reports, Wallace was shot and killed during an altercation involving a vehicle exchange. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office revealed that the conflict began when Amber Lynn Camarillo, a 26-year-old woman from Southside Jacksonville, discovered that her Honda Civic had been taken without her permission and
traded to Wallace for drugs. Camarillo, determined to retrieve her car, arranged to meet Wallace at the motel in the early hours of the morning.
During the encounter, Wallace demanded $100 in addition to the return of the car. After handing over the cash, Camarillo went to her vehicle, retrieved a gun, and fired two shots at Wallace. Wallace attempted to flee but succumbed to her injuries in a nearby motel room. Surveillance footage captured the sequence of events, showing Camarillo arriving at the motel in a Cadillac Escalade and later leaving the scene in the Honda Civic.
Following the incident, Camarillo was arrested and charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. She had a prior criminal record, including arrests for possession of a controlled substance and violating probation. Wallace also had a lengthy criminal history with numerous arrests in Jacksonville.
