James Beck, a 44-year-old resident of Tampa, Florida, tragically lost his life on January 31, 2017, during a Craigslist transaction gone wrong. Beck and his 15-year-old son were attempting to sell a dirt bike when they encountered two teenagers who had responded to their online ad. The meeting took place in Tampa, where the Becks quickly realized they were being set up for a robbery. As they tried to leave, James Beck was fatally shot in front of his son.
